Our journey toward a more inclusive community:

Resonance & Roots was born from a desire to amplify voices and foster a more equitable environment at the University of Stevens Point. Discover our commitment to building a campus where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported.

Our inspiration and mission

Resonance & Roots was inspired by the pressing need for platforms on campus that allow our diverse population to share their fears, resilience, and empower one another. Through research, we identified a lack of resources surrounding racial equality and immigration.

This initiative, designed by an ally, aims to ensure visibility and discover firsthand how our campus communities are impacted, informing  our Campuses on the resources we need moving forward. As a key part of the Tri-Campus Equity Study, Resonance & Roots 2026 strives to build a more inclusive community on the UWSP campuses by focusing on the immigrant experience and racial equity challenges to help improve campus resources and advocate for racial equity.

Key takeaways for our visitors

The first step in fostering a supportive and inclusive campus community is to understand the experiences of others. We encourage visitors to learn about the diverse populations within our community. It is essential to clearly identify resources for Diversity Immigration Support, culturally specific healthcare and mental health providers, specialized food options, and safe spaces for BIPOC and immigrant individuals to connect and network.

Resonance & Roots is dedicated to enhancing these campus resources and advocating for racial equity at UWSP. We assess needs by exploring the immigrant experience and identifying barriers faced when accessing campus services, all while listening to our affiliates. Our goal is to bridge gaps in available resources.

Connecting with our purpose

Resonance & Roots archives are based on the Tri-Campus Equity Study. This  initiative is dedicated to building a more inclusive community across all UWSP campuses. Our core purpose is to hear from students and staff who live the immigrant experience and face racial equity challenges, ultimately improving campus resources and advocating for racial equity at UWSP.

This website also serves as the Resonance and Roots 2026 digital archive. This collection features resources and voluntary personal stories of resilience and success from participants. The archive is designed to be a confidential space where students and staff can share their experiences, bringing visibility to world issues on campus. Findings from the survey will also be summarized and shared with the Office of Diversity and College Access (DCA) to advocate for better support services and will be displayed on this website.

"Resonance & Roots provides an invaluable platform for our campus community to connect, share, and advocate for the resources we truly need."
